Code of Ethics

We pledge to establish and adhere to a code of ethics, which will serve as the cornerstone of sound conduct and values.
Our corporation, HL Group, founded in the spirit of Jeong-Do management, honors individuals, and contributes to our national community. We are committed to efficient and ethical business operations with the aim of maximizing public benefit and innovating for the future.
We respect the principles of free market competition and seek mutual benefits with our stakeholders through trust and collaboration to ensure our ongoing growth as a global enterprise.
With this ethos, all individuals associated with HL Group—our employees, supplier, and all those engaged in our corporate transactions—must uphold our ethical code and pledge to implement it consistently.
Chapter 1: Commitment to the Nation and Society
HL Group strives to be a corporation that is held in high regard by society by diligently upholding its social responsibilities.
  • 1) We acknowledge the importance of laws, traditions, customs, cultures, and socially recognized values, and strive for shared prosperity and progress through rational business conduct.
  • 2) We adhere to international conventions related to human rights, environmental protection, and cultural and economic standards, and comply with the laws and accounting norms of all regions where we operate.
  • 3) We contribute to national economic development through job creation and responsible tax contributions and support the growth of local communities by fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities.
Chapter 2: Responsibility and Duty to Customers
Recognizing that customer satisfaction is the bedrock of corporate advancement, we respect the rights of our customers and endeavor to enhance their value.
  • 1) We maintain Jeong-Do and sincerity in our interactions with customers, safeguard their information, and uphold the commitments we make to them, thereby earning their trust.
  • 2) We value customer feedback, leverage our technological prowess to offer top-tier products and services, and strive for customer satisfaction by providing these at a reasonable price.
  • 3) We refrain from any behavior that would detrimentally impact the interests of our customers.
Chapter 3: Responsibility and Duty to Shareholders
We value the perspectives of our shareholders and make our utmost efforts to amplify shareholder rights and investment value.
  • 1) We respect the rights and values of our shareholders and investors, and effectively operate risk management and internal control systems to enable sound investment and management.
  • 2) By establishing a responsible management framework, we provide the necessary information for business decision-making in a timely manner, thus securing shareholder trust by adhering to all relevant procedures.
Chapter 4: Fair Competition and Transactions
To uphold the principles of freedom and fairness, all transactions must ensure equal participation, which in turn fosters mutual trust and cooperation for shared long-term growth.
  • 1) We acknowledge the legitimate rights of our competitors and perceive competition as an opportunity for mutual growth.
  • 2) We secure competitive advantages by employing fair practices without disparaging competitors or exploiting their weaknesses.
  • 3) We ensure fair dealings from a position of equality, based on mutual trust and collaboration, with sufficient consultation on transaction conditions and procedures and by providing all necessary information.
  • 4) We ensure fair practices with our partner companies according to the principles of free competition, and provide equal opportunities for participation.
  • 5) Registration and selection of partner companies are conducted transparently and rationally, in line with objective and fair evaluation criteria.
  • 6) We strictly adhere to all regulations pertaining to fair trade.
Chapter 5: Fundamental Ethical Principles for Employees
Every HL Group employee, as a representative of the company embodying a spirit of progressiveness and creativity, carries out his or her duties impartially and with pride while establishing appropriate values and ethical viewpoints.
  • 1) Employees maintain high ethical standards, thereby preserving individual dignity and the company's reputation.
  • 2) Understanding the company's diverse policies, rules, and roles, employees endeavor to excel in their assigned duties while executing all tasks with transparency and fairness.
  • 3) Employees self-define an aspirational profile of an ideal professional that aligns with the demands of our rapidly evolving, diverse era, and achieve it through persistent self-improvement.
Chapter 6: Obligations Towards Employees
The company recognizes the inherent dignity and value of all employees as distinct individuals, ensures equitable evaluations and treatment commensurate with their capabilities and accomplishments, and offers support alongside opportunities for capability enhancement.
  • 1) The company respects the privacy of employees and their right to suggest ideas, and fosters a structural and cultural framework that enables work with a sense of ownership, pride, and satisfaction.
  • 2) The company adopts fair criteria to evaluate employees based on their capabilities and accomplishments, and disregards disparities related to education, gender, religion, geographic origin, age, disability, and race.
  • 3) The company actively supports and establishes an environment conducive to developing employees into autonomous and creative specialists.
  • 4) The company implements educational training aimed at preventing sexual harassment in the workplace and makes preemptive efforts towards prevention.
  • 5) The company is committed to safeguarding employee health and creating a safe and enjoyable work atmosphere.
Chapter 7: Penalties for Non-Adherence to the Code of Ethics
Sanctions for non-compliance with the code of ethics will be administered in line with relevant regulations.
Addendum
Article 1: Enforcement
These ethical standards shall be enforced as of May 1, 2011.
Article 2: Target Audience
These ethical standards apply to all stakeholders, encompassing employees, supplier, and all entities in business relationships.
Article 3: Interpretation and Advice
In the event of any questions or conflicting matters regarding these ethical standards, consult the Information Management Office and adhere to its interpretation.
Article 4: Relationship with Other Provisions
The code of ethics, which underpins the practice of Jeong-Do management, supersedes any internal company regulations; for further specifics, the ethical conduct guidelines should be followed.
